Nepal’s national women’s football team is gearing up for a strong showing at the upcoming 2024 WAFF Women’s Championship in Saudi Arabia. The team’s participation was confirmed by the All Nepal Football Association’s (ANFA) Emergency Committee, led by President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, on January 16, 2024.
Adding to the excitement, star player Sabitra Bhandari is set to join the team, bolstering their chances in the tournament. Nepal will compete against a talented field including Guam, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, and Syria in the biennial West Asian competition organized by the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF).
The WAFF Women’s Championship 2024 will take place in Saudi Arabia from February 19 to 29.
