Nepal is ready to take center stage in a thrilling cricketing spectacle as it hosts the inaugural Tri-series of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2. This marks the start of the 2023/24-2027 cycle on February 15, 2024, and features an expanded field of eight teams. Associate nations will battle for a coveted spot in the ICC ODI World Cup 2027.
The eight participating teams – Canada, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, United Arab Emirates, and USA – will clash in 24 Tri-series, playing a total of 144 ODIs on their path to World Cup qualification. The top four teams directly secure spots in the World Cup Qualifiers, while the bottom four fight for survival in the Qualifier Play-offs.
Notably, the Netherlands, a former World Cup Super League participant, now faces the challenges of League 2. Canada, after success in the last CWC Qualifier play-off, earns promotion.
